3 Circuit Federation Day - 22nd May 2010

On Saturday 22nd May 2010 the three Methodist Circuits of Chippenham, Upper Thames and Swindon and Marlborough came together to celebrate the forming of the Great Western Federation.  The new Federation will work together in many areas of Church life but particularly in Mission.

Marlborough Section Display

The Marlborough Section display with photos and information about our Churches.  There were displays from most of the other Churches in the new Great Western Federation and a map showing where all the Churches are situated.

Folk Gather  for Worship

The Sports Hall at St Joseph's College, Swindon begins to fill in anticipation of the Celebration Worship Service. The singing was led by a worship group from the Chippenham Circuit and the Key-note Speaker was Rev. Ian Bell from Church House.  Rev. Ward Jones, Chair of the District, was also present.

Kath Allright receives the GWF Candle for Christchurch

Each Church was presented with a Candle to commemorate the day.  Kath Allright (in middle of picture) received the Candle for Christchurch.

But it wasn't all serious stuff - there was plenty of time for playing on the bouncy castle, enjoying fellowship over the hog roast (with vegetarian option!) and sliding down the bouncy slide!
