Wiltshire Churches Together - 'Shaping Unity - Sharing Gifts'
Thursday 21st October 2010, 10am - 3.30pm at Ivy House, Warminister. An opportunity to explore our uniqueness and celebrate our diversity through sharing, listening and praying together. Subsidised cost of £7 per head. (Lunch, Coffee and Tea).
To make the event work, the organiser, Rev. Kate Sax, is looking for volunteers from each denomination to prepare a static presentation of something which is special and unique to each particular worship and understanding of the Christian faith - something which can be shared by all present. This could take the form of art, music, symbols, words in any format, or any other medium. Whatever is offered will be set up in one of the rooms at Ivy House and will be open for people to move around, view, sit, pray, etc - This is a time for sharing our gifts, opening our hearts, listening and hopefully growing in understanding of each other and the breadth, depth and height of Jesus' love for us all.
If you would be interested in volunteering in this way please contact Kate on: kate@kinkiizi.fsnet.co.uk or telephone her on: 01380 831120.

Section Directory
I am now preparing to print the new Section Directory. The Directory is vital to good communication within the Marlborough Section so please check your entry and let Chrissy know if any of your information has changed since the last edition (February 2009). I have made quite a few changes but I am aware that there are still email addresses that I don't have or, like the Christchurch email address, have recently changed. I need your help to make sure the information is accurate! Thanks Chrissy.
Sermons on the Web!
Long standing members of Christchurch were pleased to see Rev Geoffrey Gordon on Sunday 8th August. Geoffrey was Minister in the 1980s when the then Marlborough Methodist Church merged with the United Reformed Church in The Parade to form Christchurch. His visit was a treat for more recent members too - listen again to Geoffrey's message.Recordings of some sermons and services will now be available on the Christchurch website. We have the wonderful sermon by Lord Griffiths at the Centenary Service on 13th June and the much appreciated talk by the Bishop of Reading from last November. Please have a listen and let us know what you think - particularly about sound quality and whether it is easy to use. If it works well we will start uploading more services and talks. The Sunday evening 'Songs of Praise' service by Gary Best on Wesley's hymns is now available as an audio recording on this site. Please give us feedback on the sound quality of this mainly musical service
Devizes Food Bank
There has been a growing demand on the Food Bank and more supplies are desperately needed for them to be able to meet the requests. Please think about donating the 'free' one in a 'buy one get one free' offer or just buy an extra tin or packet now and again to donate - every little helps. Current needs are always on the Weekly Church Notices or you can check out what is needed on the Food Bank Website.
